Terms of Use
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Vioo is a Portalsbase product — a small, self-hosted app run by Portalsbase. It's free and open for anyone to sign up and use. By signing in and using Vioo, you agree to these terms.
The service
Vioo lets you and your friends capture photos into a shared album that stays locked until a reveal moment the group agrees on, then browse the revealed photos together. Anyone can create a free account; joining a specific album additionally requires that album's invite code.
Your account
You sign in through the app's identity provider. You're responsible for keeping your own account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
Acceptable use
By using Vioo, you agree not to:
- Upload photos of people without a reasonable expectation that they're okay being in a shared album with the group
- Upload illegal content, or content intended to harass, harm, or embarrass another member
- Share an album's invite code with anyone outside the group it was intended for
- Attempt to access another album's photos or bypass the reveal lock
- Use the app in a way that disrupts the service for other users
- Create multiple accounts to abuse, spam, or overload the service
An album's host may remove the album (and all its photos) at their discretion, including in response to misuse.
Your content
You retain ownership of the photos you take. By uploading a photo to an album, you grant Vioo permission to store, process, and display it to that album's members as needed to provide the reveal feature — and nothing beyond that.
Album hosts
Whoever creates an album is its host and controls its reveal settings, invite code, and deletion. Hosts are responsible for who they invite and for setting a fair, agreed-upon reveal time or condition for their group.
No warranty
Vioo is a self-hosted hobby project, provided "as is," without uptime guarantees or any warranty, express or implied. Revealed albums are automatically and permanently deleted 2 days after reveal to keep server storage in check — download anything you want to keep before then. Vioo is not a permanent archive; keep your own copies of photos that matter to you (the download and "download all" options make this easy).
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator of Vioo is not liable for any loss of data, photos, or access arising from your use of the app, including from server downtime, hardware failure, or album deletion by a host.
Termination
Access to Vioo may be limited or revoked at any time, for any account, member, or album, at the operator's or a host's discretion — for example if an account is used to abuse the service, or by an album being deleted once its purpose is served.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continuing to use Vioo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
